Key Craftsmanship for Streetwear Jackets

Fabric Treatments & Distressing

Washing & Fading: Common methods include Acid Wash, Sun Fading, Stone Washing, and Enzyme Washing. These techniques give new fabrics a natural vintage feel and faded effect.
Distressing: This includes hand-frayed edges, holes, and whiskers, frequently used on denim or heavyweight canvas jackets.

Printing Techniques

3D Puff Printing: Highly dimensional, this is a premium printing method commonly used for streetwear brand logos and slogans.
High-Standard Screen Printing & DTG (Direct-to-Garment): Used to achieve highly saturated, complex illustrations or vintage distressed graphics (such as crackle prints).

Embroidery & Appliqué

Standard Manufacturing Process

Design & Tech Pack

Define the specific jacket category (Bomber, Varsity, Coach Jacket, etc.) and fit (e.g., the common Boxy cropped silhouette or Oversized cut).
Select fabrics (e.g., 400g-500g heavyweight cotton, high-density nylon, leather, or spliced materials).
Create a detailed Tech Pack, specifying the size chart, BOM (Bill of Materials), and various craftsmanship parameters.

Pattern Making & Sampling

First Fit: The pattern maker drafts flat paper patterns or uses 3D draping based on the design to create the initial sample garment.
Fitting & Adjustments: Confirm whether the silhouette, armhole structure, and drape meet the desired streetwear style. Once approved, proceed to full-size grading.

Material Sourcing & Inspection

Procure the bulk fabrics, linings, and all necessary trims.
Check fabric weight, test shrinkage, and inspect colorfastness to ensure the materials can withstand subsequent intense washing or high-temperature printing processes.

Standard Manufacturing Process

Cutting

Fabrics are sent to the cutting room for precise machine or hand cutting based on the marker. For spliced jackets, different materials (like wool and PU leather) must be sorted and cut separately.

Panel Processing

Key Step: Before the garment is sewn together, the corresponding cut panels must be sent to different facilities for surface treatments. For example, 3D puff printing on the chest, high-stitch-count embroidery on the back, or localized distressing are usually completed at the panel stage.

Sewing & Assembly

The production line stitches the processed panels into a complete garment according to the operational sequence, including setting sleeves, attaching linings, and sewing pockets. For windproof and waterproof jackets, seam taping is also done during this stage.
